which helps people prepare a business plan for future success.

Alex Brooks (EW 07) is a co-founder and CEO of Marathon Robotics, a Sydney-based
company which commercialises state-of-the art robotics technology, building automonous
mobile robotic targets for military training. Previously Alex worked in Australia and the USA , in
R&D and business development roles for a multinational telecommunications company. Alex
has a PhD in robotics from the University of Sydney, specialising in autonomous robot
navigation and distributed robot software systems, and worked for a number of years as a
senior researcher at the University of Sydney.
Hamish Hawthorn is Chief Executive Officer of ATP Innovations – Australia’s premier
technology business incubator. ATP Innovations delivers commercialisation and business
expertise to emerging technology businesses. Hamish is a mechanical engineer and he has been
involved in the commercialisation of technology for over 15 years. Prior to joining ATP
Innovations he directed strategic business development for technology companies and worked
for the Federal and NSW Governments on early-stage entrepreneurship and technology
businesses.
Michael Quinn has 30 years experience in technology companies in Australia, USA and UK. He
is the founding partner of Innovation Capital, a venture capital fund and chairman of the
Enterprise Workshop. Previously he was a co-founder of Memtec, a world leader in advanced
filtration technology which was listed on the ASX, NASDAQ and then NYSE, and has been
Chief Executive Officer or a director of numerous listed and unlisted technology intensive
businesses.
The next NSW Enterprise Workshop program starts on 26 March
– Sessions are held at ATP Innovations
The program is conducted over 4 months part-time largely outside business hours.
1. The Workshop has helped to create and develop businesses since 1982.
2. You will learn how to identify and assess commercial opportunities and prepare a
realistic business plan as your ‘roadmap’ to success.
3. A senior business person will work with your team as a mentor providing guidance
and counsel.
4. Many senior business people will share their business knowledge and experience
with you.
Government subsidies are available for eligible businesses - conditions apply.
Part payments are available on approval over the duration of the Program.
