Emotiv preparing for global sales

With UL and FCC certification for consumer sales in the United States, Emotiv Systems has sold the first production run of its groundbreaking product, the Emotiv EPOC consumer neuroheadset, with the rate of sales far exceeding expectations.  The Company is now in the final stages of CE accreditation for global sales outside the US, allowing world-wide demand to be met.  The Emotiv EPOC is already available worldwide to developers and researchers and has experienced a rapid uptake.

Emotiv Systems specializes in the design of human-computer interface devices and associated technologies, with a view to incorporate the immediacy of cognitive power into interactive programs. While the company expects its strongest market to be in the gaming industry, the technology has several potential applications in diverse areas, including medical support devices and security.  Early examples of where the headset has been extended outside gaming include the field of robotics and assisting mobility challenged individuals.  The headset has even been used in a major public art performance with various artists minds creating and driving music and visual images in a live performance.

Emotiv is short listed for the prestigious Standards Australia 2010 Australian Design Award.
