Alex Birrell

Alex has 15 years of experience in senior roles in technology and the
financial services sectors.
After completing an MBA, Alex joined PricewaterhouseCoopers, working on strategy, due diligence, operational reviews, licensing and risk management with private and listed companies.
In 2007, Alex became vice-president of operations for a public unlisted company in the respiratory field and was responsible for key activities including submitting a new drug application to the US Federal Drugs Administration, strategy, capital raising, branding, shareholder communication and business development.
Alex began her career as a veterinarian, before undertaking a PhD in medicine at the University of Sydney, specialising in diabetes. While she completed the PhD, Alex managed a research unit focusing on renal medicine, cardiovascular disease and hypertension at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.
